TF Davao apprehend 30 suspects, seize P3.7M worth illegal drugs

DAVAO CITY - The Task Force (TF) Davao has arrested 30 persons this year on for involvement in illegal drugs this year, following the checkpoints mounted in various entry points to the city.

TF Davao commander Consolito Yecla said their personnel were also able to confiscate P3.7 million worth of suspected illegal drugs from the suspects.

Yecla said all the suspects and the evidence have been turned over to the police after the unit recorded and documented the cases.

The TF Davao, meanwhile, nabbed on February 26, Wednesday afternoon another suspect for illegal drug trade at the checkpoint in Lasang in Davao City.

TF Davao personnel recovered two plastic sachets of suspected shabu, worth P165,000, from Forest Tabanao Pastrana, 34, a resident of Rosalina Village of this city.

Pastrana was onboard a passenger bus, traveling from Tagum City to Davao City. He was arrested after he was confirmed to be carrying illegal drugs.

"We laud the professionalism of our troops manning the checkpoint. Their efforts in learning and sharing the best practice produce best result," Yecla said.

Yecla said the TF Davao with the support of the City Government and Davao City Police Office (DCPO) will continue to support the anti-drug campaign of the government.
