P3.4 million shabu seized in QC

Around P3.4 million worth of suspected shabu were seized from three alleged drug personalities in a buy-bust operation at Barangay Kaligayahan in Novaliches, Quezon City Saturday afternoon.

Arrested were Karen Leal, 32, sales lady; John Rhens Timing, 20, construction worker; and Jason Ymalay, 26; all residents of Novaliches, Quezon City.

Joint elements of the Quezon City Police District Drug Enforcement Unit, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Regional Office-National Capital Region, and Police Station 5 conducted the drug bust at about 4:30 p.m.

Investigation showed that the suspects were arrested after transacting a drug deal with a poseur buyer.

Seized from the suspects were a bag of suspected shabu weighing 500 grams and worth about P3.4 million.

Also retrieved from the suspects were the marked money and some of the suspects’ personal belongings.

The arrested suspects will be facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
