Suspected ASG member nabbed in QC

A suspected member of the Abu Sayyaf Group was arrested by authorities in Quezon City Tuesday.

Police identified him as Adzman Tanjal, 32, a delivery boy, from Sabah, Malaysia.

Tanjal’s arrest came after joint members of Quezon City Police District (QCPD) and Regional Police served a warrant against him at his residence in Salaam Compound in Barangay Culiat around 9:30 a.m.

Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 89 Presiding Judge Cecilyn Burgos-Villavert issued the warrant against him for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.

Recovered from him were a hand grenade, COLT .45 caliber pistol with a magazine loaded with six live ammunition.

During the operation, a police officer from QCPD-Police Station 3 accidentally opened fire, injuring himself. He sustained gunshot wound in his left foot and was rushed to nearby hospital.
