JCI SENATE MANILA BOARD MEMBERS OATH-TAKING – Manila Vice Mayor Dr. Honey Lacuna (seated, center) officiated the oath taking at the Presidential Suite of the Manila Hotel of the 2020 JCI Senate Manila Board members led by President Jefferson Plaza on January 28, 2020 with Manila Bulletin President Dr. Emilio C Yap III as special guest. The board members are: Winston Laurence 'Larry' C. Wu, executive vice president; Jasper L. Golangco, secretary general; Harry L. Cheng, treasurer; Kerby G. Chua, Lex Archee T. Adasa, William O. Ong Jr., Micael Cornelio L. Pacia, Wilfredo Mari N. Chua, Stephen C. Choa, Randy O. Manoloto, Charlie T. Gaw, Mario Carlo J. Villegas, Kendrick N. Sy, and Michael S. Bulaong, directors.
The Junior Chamber International (JCI) Senate Manila recently inducted its new Board of Directors for the year 2020. The proceedings were held last January 28, 2020 at the opulent Presidential Suite of the Manila Hotel.
The formal event was well-attended by JCI Senators and past presidents from the Manila chapter, as well as leaders of JCI Senate Philippines, whose president JCI Senator Rene Natividad also administered the charging of the incoming officers together with the ever eloquent JCI Senator and JCI Manila Past President Luis Basilio, Jr., who also made the personal introduction of new incoming president, JCI Senator Jefferson Plaza, General Manager of Advance Solutions, Inc.
Guest of honor for the evening was Dr. Maria Shielah“Honey”Lacuna-Pangan, Vice Mayor of the City of Manila, who came radiant in a soft-gold Filipiñana-inspired ensemble. In her privilege speech, the honorable Vice Mayor thanked the JCI Senate Manila, and the JCI Manila for its many projects over the years that have helped the city, as well as its citizens. She also expressed excitement and vowed support for the possible revival of past projects, such as Manila’s Finest H.O.P.E. (Honorable, Outstanding, Police Enforcers) Awards, which recognized and rewarded the finest of Manila’s police force.
Vice Mayor Lacuna also shared highlights of ongoing and upcoming projects being undertaken by the Office of the City Mayor, led by the charismatic and honorable Francisco “Isko” Moreno Domagoso.
Throughout the duration of the evening, brief tours of the over 1,000 sqm Presidential Suite were given, as guests marveled at the elegance of the venue. From the comprehensive facilities, to the sophisticated touches in the details of various aspects of the suite. Truly and literally, a room fit for a king, as the Manila Hotel’s Presidential Suite is the residence of choice of many heads of state who have visited the Philippines.
