ILIGAN CITY – A female New People’s Army finance officer was arrested by combined army and police forces in her residence, at Oroquieta City in Misamis Occidental Wednesday afternoon.

Jenefer C Aguhob, known as alias Ace or Jen, was apprehended in a law enforcement operation conducted by the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and Philippine National Police (PNP), which was led by Police Lt Col Melfin Ian Burlat.
The troops served the warrant of arrest for murder issued by Regional Trial Court 9th Judicial Region Branch 9, Dipolog City against Aguhob.
Colonel Leonel Nicolas, 102nd Infantry Brigade commander, said the arrest of Aguhob will affects the morale and operational capability of the SRPC II (MONTEROSA) since she holds a significant position in the organization by providing financial and logistical support to the armed group.
“Our troops, together with our partners from the PNP continuously conduct operations against the communist terrorists to prevent them from instigating hostilities in the communities,” said Lt. Gen. Cirilito Sobejana, commander of the Western Mindanao Command.
“With the weakened leadership, I now call on the members of the WMRPC to lay down their arms, return to the folds of the law, and be one with us in our peace building mechanisms,” urged Sobejana.
He attributed the achievement to the strong collaboration among officers and men of the Joint Task Force ZamPeLan and the PNP.
“My snappy salute to all of them. With your selfless service, our people will certainly live peacefully and happily,” Sobejana concluded.
Meanwhile, Brigadier General Generoso Ponio, First Infantry (Tabak) Division commander, lauded the troops for the successful arrest of the NPA finance officer.
He also urged other NPAs to surrender and lay down their firearms to benifit the E-CLIP before it is too late.
Last week, a platoon of NPAs surrendered to the 102nd Infantry Brigade.
Aguhob is placed under the custody of Misamis Occidental Provincial Police Office for proper disposition.
