Civil Aeronautic Board (CAB) legal chief Atty. Wyrlou Samudio reiterated that the travel ban in China and its special administrative regions of Hong Kong and Macau is strictly being implemented.

Samudio said the Bureau of Immigration is strict and will not allow any one, even Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), to fly to China, in the wake of the outbreak of nCov. Taiwan, however, is not included in the travel ban, he said.

The CAB issued the clarification because many OFWs are begging airport authorities to leave for China, Hong Kong and Macau to resume their jobs.

Samudio appealed to them not to compromise their health in exchange for the salaries they will receive.

He also assured the OFWs that their paid airline tickets can be refunded, or rebooked, and the payment may revert to the travel fund.
