Two foreign students arrested for possession of P5-million shabu

DAGUPAN CITY – Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Region 1 and the Dagupan City Police arrested two African students after confiscating from them 700 grams of shabu and more than two kilos of marijuana in a buy-bust operation here, Tuesday.

The PDEA and Dagupan police operatives conducted the anti-illegal drug operations in Barangay Malued at around 10:35 p.m. and arrested Yemeni national Hood Abdulqawi, 23; and Sudanese Mohamed Abbas Mohamed Yassin, 28. Both claimed they were students.

PDEA Region 1-Pangasinan Provincial Office, led by IA V Rechie Q. Camacho, said the shabu seized from them were valued at P4.76 million.

The value of the seized marijuana, which was contained in four plastic bags, was pegged at P264,840.

The suspects are currently detained at PDEA ROI- Pangasinan Provincial Office while documents for the filing of complaint are being prepared.
