Soldiers recover high-powered guns at suspected NPA lair in Isabela

CAMP MELCHOR F DELA CRUZ, Gamu, Isabela – Operatives of the 86th Infantry Battalion have recovered high-powered guns in a suspected lair of the New People’s Army (NPA) rebels in a vacant house in Sitio Dibilisawan, Barangay Sta Isabel, Jones, Isabela province, according to Brigadier General Laurence E. Mina, the commander of the army’s 502nd Infantry Brigade.

Mina said the troopers recovered two M-14 rifles with two magazine assemblies with 35 bullets; 960 live bullets of M-16 armalite rifle (600 bullets) and M-14 rifle (360 bullets).
The cache of arms reportedly belonged to members of the Kilusang Larangan Guerilla (KLG)- Quirino-Nueva Vizcaya.
He said the local residents tipped-off soldiers about the presence of the high-powered guns and bullets believed to owned by the NPA rebels.
