“As promised, more drug testing is being conducted,” said Police Brigadier General Rene Pamuspusan, director of Police Regional Office (PRO-6).

PRO-6’s Regional Crime Laboratory Office (RCLO) under Police Colonel Enrique Ancheta conducted random drug testing to 80 cops at Camp Delgado, the police regional headquarters located in this city.

Another batch of 231 personnel under the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) was subjected to a separate random drug testing this week.

Last week, the RCLO said first batch of random drug testing yielded negative results for the 1,090 police officers who were randomly selected.

Since he assumed office last year, Pamuspusan has reiterated that internal cleansing was one of his top priorities. That included going after police officers engaged in illegal drug use by conducting random testing.

Last year, PRO-6 released a report that nine police officers have been dismissed from service since 2016 due to for links to illegal drug trade and illegal drug use.
