Repair works resume in some parts of EDSA, QC roads this weekend

Repair works on some portions of Epifanio delos Santos Avenue (EDSA) and other roads in Quezon City will resume over the weekend, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said Friday.

Starting Friday night (Jan. 31), some sections of EDSA and roads in Quezon City will be closed to traffic until Monday morning, DPWH National Capital Region Director Ador Canlas said.

Road rehabilitation works will be conducted on EDSA covering the southbound direction from Bulakan Street to West Avenue, first lane from sidewalk and from Approach B of P. Tuazon flyover to Approach A of Boni Serrano flyover, second lane from MRT line; and the northbound direction after Aurora Boulevard to New York Street, third lane from sidewalk.

Repair works are also scheduled at the southbound direction of A. Bonifacio Avenue from 7th Avenue to Sergeant Rivera Street, second lane from sidewalk; eastbound direction of Elliptical Road from Kalayaan Avenue to Maharlika Street, seventh lane from outer sidewalk, and General Luis Street from Rebisco Road to Samote Street; and northbound direction of Katipunan Avenue/Circumferential Road 5 fronting UP Town Center, third lane from center island.

The affected road sections will be reopened at 5 a.m. on Monday (Feb. 3). Motorists are advised to take possible alternate routes to avoid expected traffic build up at the construction areas, the department said.
