A UV Express driver was shot by a motorcycle-riding gunman near Meralco Building in Pasig City Friday afternoon.

Pasig City Police Chief Colonel Moises Villaceran Jr. said the 54-year-old man was shot in the neck by a still unidentified suspect and rushed to the nearby The Medical City hospital.

He said the two men figured in a road mishap at the corner of Ortigas Avenue and Meralco Avenue in Pasig City at around 5 p.m.

Citing an initial report, Villaceran said the motorcycle rider hit the left side mirror of the victim’s vehicle. The suspect then tried to escape but due to the heavy traffic, his escape route was blocked.

The victim alighted from his vehicle and approached the motorcycle rider, but the latter suddenly pulled out a gun, believed to be a revolver, and shot the victim, the police chief said.

The Pasig City Police are hunting the suspect, who quickly fled after the incident.
