Cop killed by motorcycle-riding gunmen in Negros Oriental

BACOLOD CITY – A police officer was gunned down by two unidentified men onboard a motorcycle at Barangay Tapon Norte B, San Jose, Negros Oriental Tuesday night.

Slain was Police Executive Master Sergeant Roldan Esmajer, 47, of the said village.

According to initial report from the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office (Norppo), the victim was riding his motorcycle on his way to San Jose Municipal Police Station where he was assigned, when another motorcycle started tailing him at around 7 p.m.

The motorcycle, according to some bystanders was moving closer to the victim and one of them allegedly shot him three times.

The gunmen on board a black Raider 150 were wearing jackets and black helmets.

Esmajer sustained three gunshot wounds on his abdomen and chest. He was rushed to Silliman Medical Center in Dumaguete City but died 45 minutes later.
