It was the eighth time that the PMA Medical Mission Foundation of Greater St. Louis, Missouri, USA, and the provincial government had partnered to provide free health services to deserving Bulakenyos.

Ma. Fe Batac, 60, and from Barangay Mambog, said it was her second time to participate in the said medical and surgical mission and shared her experience during the checkup.

“Pangalawang taon ko na po na nagpupunta dito sa medical mission. Ngayon po, na-check na highblood po ako at tsaka ipinatingin ko po ‘yong likod ko, sa spinal area. Bilang pasyente, napakalaking bagay po nito sa amin dahil hindi naman po kami madalas nakakapag pa-check up sa mga private na ospital. Dito po, binigyan pa kami ng gamot,” Batac said.

Last Sunday night, the delegates of the PMA Medical Mission Foundation of Greater St. Louis, Missouri, USA were welcomed by the provincial officials headed by Gov. Daniel R. Fernando and Vice Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado, as well as division heads of the PGB offices.

“We have been doing this for eight years and we are happy to help people out. We thank all the individuals behind this project and I’m hoping that we are able to help more people this year,” Dr. Vicente Zata, president of PMA Medical Mission Foundation of Greater St. Louis, Missouri, USA, said during the short program that was held.

Further, Fernando expressed his gratitude to the association and said that their unselfish actions have helped transform the lives of many Bulakenyos.

“Your generous contribution of time and energy to this medical mission has been an incredible gift to our people. Your generosity extends not only through your acts of giving but also through the lives that you help transform through this mission,” Fernando said.

The four-day free medical and surgical mission will run until January 30.
