BUTUAN CITY – After evading justice for more than six years, the No. 1 most wanted person in Butuan City was arrested by pursuing agents of Metro Butuan City Police Office (BCPO) in Lapu-Lapu City.
In his spot report to Caraga Police Regional Office 13 (PRO 13) Regional Director Brig. Gen. Joselito T. Esquivel, Jr., BCPO City Director Canilo A. Fuentes said Adonis T. Franco, 60, of R. Calo St, Barangay San Ignacio, Butuan City, was apprehended around 2:45 p.m. on Saturday, January 25 at his temporary home in Sitio Timpolok, Barangay Babag, Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu province.
The Lapu-Lapu City Police Station-Station 3 assisted the BCPO when implanting the search warrant, he said.
The suspect is facing charges for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Dangerous Drugs Act issued by Judge Godofredo B. Abul, Jr. of Butuan City Regional Trial Court (RTC) last September 16, 2014, violation of RA 8294 or Illegal Possession of Firearm and Violation of Commission on Election (Comelec) Resolution No. 9651-A or the Comelec Gun Ban issued by Judge Fernando G. Fuentes III of the Bohol RTC Branch 49 on March 27, 2014.
The suspect is now temporarily detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 3 of the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office.
Franco, will be transported to Butuan City and will be turned over to the issuing court, the BCPO city director said.
“The suspect was arrested in the wake of our aggressive simultaneous anti-criminality operations that includes Manhunt Charlie or operations against Wanted Persons,” Fuentes added.
