P1 million worth of shabu seized in QC buy-bust 

Anti-narcotics agents from the Northern Police District (NPD) seized nearly P1 million worth of suspected shabu from six alleged drug personalities in two separate buy-bust operations early Wednesday morning.

Police arrested Amor Furagganon, 41; Alexander Genesis Roura, 24; Jerick Ximon Dela Cruz, 28; Maria Gwendolyn Belloc, 42; Ronaldo Petonio, 27; and Jonathan Swing, 29.

First to get arrested were Furagganon, Roura, Dela Cruz, Belloc and Petonio when members of NPD Drug Enforcement Unit conducted a drug sting against them along Gaisea St. corner General Ave. in Barangay Tandang Sora, Quezon City around 2:30 a.m. after weeks of surveillance.

“Initially sa area po ng NPD ‘yung transaction, pero nagpush through po ang abutan [buy-bust] sa area ng Tandang Sora after dalhin noong target ung [police] poseur buyer natin,” Lt. Col. Gio Caliao, NPD Intelligence Division and Special Operation Unit chief, told the Manila Bulletin.

Police said that after the consummation of the transaction, the five were immediately collared. Seized from them were 17 sachets of suspected shabu weighing 75 grams, worth about P510,000.

Also recovered from them were four mobile phones containing messages of alleged drug transaction, the P1,000 cash buy bust money and a black leather bag, where the alleged drugs were placed.

Some 20 minutes later, anti-narcotics police of Malabon City arrested Swing along Dr. Lascano St. corner P. Aquino St. in Brgy. Tugatog.

Police said that they coordinated with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency before conducting the buy-bust that yielded P414,800 worth of suspected shabu.

Three nabbed in Pasay buy-bust op

Three persons, including a senior citizen claiming that he was only forced to engaged in illegal drug activity because no one trusts him and give work as carpenter, were arrested in a separate buy-bust operation conducted by members of the Pasay City Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) and confiscated from them were a total of P140,400 worth of shabu.

Colonel Bernard Yang, the city police chief, identified the arrested suspects as Che-Che Washington, 40, resident in Maricaban, Pasay City; Enrico Pavia,60, and Ismar Gigante,38, both resident in Pasay City.

According to Yang, first to be arrested was Washington at about 11:30 p.m. after a walk-in informant reported on the alleged illegal drug activity of the suspect.

Yang said that validation was made by the team of the SDEU who proceeded at Balikatan St., Maricaban Pasay City when they chanced Washington in possession of 11 pieces of small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing shabu and was placed inside a colored black coin purse.

The city police chief also said that the shabu confiscated from Washington weighs about 9.0 grams which is about P61,200.

After one hour another drug-bust operation was made by the SDEU after a concerned citizen reported on the illegal gambling activity using video karera machine at about 12:30 p.m. along Apelo Cruz St., Pasay City resulting to the arrest of Pavia and Gigante.

Yang said that upon arrest made by members of the SDEU to the two suspects who were both under their drug watchlist recovered in their possession nine pieces of a transparent plastic sachet containing shabu which is about 11.68 grams amounting to P79,400.

Yang said that Pavia claimed that he was only forced to engage in illegal drug activity for failure to find a job as a carpenter because nobody trusted and give him a job.

He said that the shabu confiscated were brought to the Southern Police District Crime Laboratory for chemical analysis while those three arrested suspects who were now detained at their custodial facility were charged for violation of Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act. (Jean Fernando)
