Presidential Communications Secretary Martin Andanar said the President has been "reliable and as good as his word" in addressing the needs of Filipinos, adding that he appreciates the latest public support.

"We welcome the 72% net satisfaction rating of President Duterte for the fourth quarter of 2019 based on the recent SWS (Social Weather Stations) Survey,” Andanar said in a statement.

"The President has consistently enjoyed a high satisfaction rating, even reaching a record-high after the midterm period, unlike past administrations. This means that the President has the support of the people, for which he is very thankful. But more than that, the people support him because they feel his legacy of real change."

Andanar said the majority of Filipinos believe the President will fulfill his promises because he keeps his word.

"President Duterte has been reliable and as good as his word in responding to the needs of Filipinos, with his service and concern being felt by all. This is why the increase in satisfaction with the President's performance also cuts across different demographics such as age groups, among men and women, and in urban and rural areas.”

In the SWS survey, the President earned an "excellent" net satisfaction rating of +72 in the fourth quarter of 2019. At least 82 percent of respondents were satisfied with Duterte's performance while 10 percent were dissatisfied.

This latest net satisfaction rating Duterte received was up by 7 points from his "very good" +65 rating received in September 2019.

According to Andanar, the President will continue to pursue reforms that will benefit the nation, from his “no compromise stance” on the water concession deals, poverty alleviation projects, to the campaign against the illegal drug trade.

"It is with steadfast commitment that this administration will continue to undertake the necessary programs and services in order to provide a comfortable life for all, as a fulfillment of his promises, as a testament to the Duterte Legacy," he said.
