The Araneta Group expects the soft opening of the first ibis Hotel brand in the country, ibis Styles Hotel in Araneta City, by the end of the year with full opening sometime in February 2021.
In an interview, Araneta City Senior Management Consultant Rowell Recinto said the hotel will cost them more than ₱1.5 billion for the construction as well as the finishings, kitchen, and furnishings.
The Araneta Group brings the ibis brand to the Philippines via a 15-story hotel along General Roxas Avenue, one of the latest additions to Araneta City’s growing offerings.
The ibis Styles Hotel will be above the much-awaited expansion of the Gateway Mall, the New Gateway.
During the topping-off ceremony for the hotel, building contractor Megawide Construction Corporation Chairman and CEO Engr. Edgar Saavedra said the hotel is part of a ₱5-billion contract they were awarded by the Araneta Group.
He said the contract includes the structural development for the hotel, a four-story mall expansion, three-level basement parking, and a large chapel.
Recinto said the hotel will be a budget hotel priced lower than their Novotel which is also being managed by international hospitality company Accor.
“The ibis Styles Hotel promises to offer an eclectic atmosphere with warm service in a unique design environment that will match the fast-paced and demanding lifestyle of an on-the-go traveler,” he said.
The ibis Styles Hotel will house 286 rooms of 18 to 20 square meters, with 22 guestrooms available per floor. The Hotel will also provide six function rooms to cater for meetings and online conferences.
An overhanging pool, furnished with a glass bottom, will be the highlight of the roof deck bar overlooking the Metro Manila skyline. Facing west, the pool will provide a unique view of Manila Bay’s pristine sunset.
