PNP Caraga reaches 100% short firearms issuance to personnel

CAMP COL. RAFAEL C. RODRIGUEZ, Butuan City - The Regional Logistics and Research and Development Division (RLRDD) of Police Regional Office (PRO) 13 proudly announced yesterday that PNP Caraga has reached 100-percent issuance of short firearms to all PNP personnel from 2016 to 2019.

PRO 13 Regional Director Brig. Gen. Joselito T. Esquivel, Jr. said that the continuous improvement of PRO 13’s move, shoot, communicate and investigation capability and infrastructure development was part of Capability Enhancement Program (CEP) of the PNP, including mobility in the field.

The CEP of the PNP aims to provide and enhance the basic operational requirements of every PNP unit especially the municipal and city police stations, regional mobile force battalions, provincial mobile force companies and national support units.

Brig. Gen. Esquivel said for the same period, the mobility of PRO 13 was 79.23 percent filled-up, investigate capability 100 percent filled-up, long firearms issuance was 65 percent filled-up and as to communicate capability, this PRO has a total of 32 tactical radios, 354 Very High Frequency (VHF) radios, 27 (Ultra High Frequency) UHF radios and 225 issued cellular phones.

While for the infrastructure projects, a total of 77 PNP standard buildings have been completely constructed filling 79.22 percent of the target, he said.

“The equipment acquisition and upgrading will transform the PNP into a highly-efficient, capable and competent police force in order to fully perform its mandate as the primary law enforcement agency of the government,” the region’s top police official added. #
