LRT1 stops operations for 24 minutes after woman falls on tracks

Operations of the Lights Rail Transit 1 (LRT1) were suspended for 24 minutes on Wednesday morning after a woman fell on the train tracks.

In a report from GMA News, the incident happened at around 6:45 a.m. in Doroteo Jose station.

“We had an incident earlier at around 6:45 am. A female passenger got dizzy and fell on our train track at D. Jose station,” said Jacqueline Gorospe, head of communications of Light Rail Manila Corp. (LRMC).

Due to the incident, operations of LRT1 were suspended and brought back to normal after 24 minutes.

“We had to stop operations for a few minutes to secure the area and for safety. Pero bumalik din sa normal operations in 24 minutes,” Gorospe said.

The unidentified woman was brought to a nearby hospital.
