Caritas Manila is appealing for donations for the people affected by the Taal Volcano eruption.
The social action arm of the Archdiocese of Manila particularly appealed for donations such as the following: food packs, clean potable water and water containers, cleaning materials, sleeping mats, blankets, mosquito nets, flashlights, rechargeable batteries, and emergency lamps.
Caritas said toothbrush, toothpaste, bath and detergent soap, shampoo, sanitary pads, disposable diapers, medical kits including basic medicines and N95 masks are also needed.
“We at Caritas Manila once again appeal for your prayers and generous heart for our fellow Filipinos affected by the natural disaster,” read their appeal.
According to Caritas, at least 5,000 families living near the volcano were forced to flee their homes when the alert level at Taal volcano in Batangas was raised to 4.
“Through your donation, we will be able to provide relief response to displaced families and affected areas,” the appeal read.
