Droids are entering the foray as Samsung intros Ballie, a robot ball. It should remind of your other spherical robots, like the MB TechNews’ favorite friend, Sphero. However, Samsung’s Ballie dials up the notch all the way to 12 out of 10 in its set of features.

Samsung calls Ballie a “’human-centric vision of robots that takes personalized care to the next level. The small rolling robot, “understands you, supports you, and reacts to your needs.’”

From the video that Samsung showed at CES 2020, Ballie can interact with other devices, such as opening up smart blinds, open the TV – we can also assume it will automatically switch to a channel the user might want – and get a smart vacuum to clean up a mess. Based on the video will also act as a home security, being your surveillance camera on patrol, and will send you a video feed to your mobile phone.

These are all concepts for now and Samsung hasn’t revealed much if Ballie will be exclusive to Samsung-related products or it will be compatible to other smart devices and appliances.
