Caloocan vendor busted for selling prohibited firecrackers

With only a few days left before the new year, police cracked down on a stall selling prohibited firecrackers at Barangay 14 in Caloocan City Saturday night.

Elements of the Northern Police District Special Operations Unit (NPD-DSOU) led the operation along Labahita Street at about 8:15 p.m.

Eighteen boxes of piccolo, 16 packs of five star, two packs of super lolo, 50 kwitis pieces, three whistle bombs, a Judas belt, and two boxes of whistling moon travelers were seized from the store.

Investigation showed that the owner of the store, who has yet to be identified, reportedly sensed ths approaching operatives and left the store and the confiscated firecrackers.

The retrieved firecrackers were brought to the NPD-DSOU for documentation and proper disposition.

The owner of the store may face charges for violation of Executive Order No. 28 and Republic Act 7183, that provides for the regulation and control of the use of firecrackers and other pyrotechnic devices.
