At least one person was injured after a fire broke out at a residential area in Pandacan, Manila Saturday morning.
According to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the fire started at a two-storey residential house at Balagtas Street, Barangay 833 in Pandacan, Manila at around 9:59 a.m.
The BFP said a certain John Cacho suffered a second degree burn during the fire.
Thick black smoke billowed from the kitchen at the first floor of a house owned by Elpidia Mimor.
The fire reached the second alarm at 10:03 a.m. and was raised to fifth alarm at 10:26 a.m. It was declared under control at 11:57 a.m.
The BFP said the cause of fire and the damage to property are still under investigation.
They also reminded the public to practice fire safety especially during the New Year celebration.
