CEBU CITY-A 22-year-old woman died after falling from the 24th floor of a condominium building in Barangay Apas here.
Police identified the fatality as Marlhan Castaños, a native of Iligan City but who lives in Barangay Banilad, Cebu City.
The incident happened past midnight last Saturday.
M/Sgt. Antonio Din, investigator of the Mabolo Police Station, said that based on the accounts of two witnesses, there was no foul play in the woman's death.
"We have requested an autopsy and we will check the victim's phone to confirm that there was really no foul play involved in the death," Din said.
Din said the woman was naked when her body was found slumped on the ground on Jose Maria del Mar Street at Cebu I.T. Park in Barangay Apas.
Before the fatal fall, Din said two construction workers of an adjacent condominium building saw the woman seemingly arguing with her Taiwanese boyfriend.
The workers saw what was happening inside the condo unit through the glass window.
The Taiwanese was identified as Tsu-Ping Lin.
Din said that according to the witnesses, Lin left a few minutes after they argued while the woman climbed out of a window and sat on a concrete ledge.
"The woman even waved at the two construction workers," Din said.
Din said Lin returned to the condo but left again after he failed to see the woman.
The woman then decided to return inside but slipped while trying to climb off the ledge, Din said.
Din said they found out that as the woman sat on the ledge, Lin rushed to the ground floor to look for his girlfriend.
Lin was later informed that there was someone who fell from the 24th floor of the building, and was shocked to discover that it was his girlfriend.
Police said the Taiwanese was cooperative in the investigation.
Lin admitted that they came from a Christmas party when they arrived in his condo unit.(
