A magnitude 5.3 earthquake struck Davao del Sur early Wednesday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported.
The quake, which occurred at 4:18 a.m., was tectonic in origin and was traced 28 kilometers southeast of Padada, Davao del Sur.
The quake had a depth of 9 km, with the following registered intensities: Intensity V – Digos City; Intensity IV – General Santos City
PHIVOLCS said the quake was not expected to cause any damage to property. However, aftershocks are likely to happen.
The tremor follows the magnitude 6.9 quake that hit the province on Sunday.
