A woman believed to be tortured was found dead on a busy highway in Taguig City on Thursday morning.

Police identified the victim through her TIN number recovered in the crime scene as Hasmin Undong, 43, from Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao.

Investigation showed that authorities discovered the lifeless body of Undong along C-6 Service Road corner Pulong Kendi St. in Sta. Ana, Taguig City at around 6 a.m. when a concerned citizen sought assistance from them.

Col. Jayson Ermina, who led the Scene of the Crime Operatives team, said that the victim sustained several bruises in both arms, indicating that she was tortured before she was killed. Three cable ties, believed to be used to tie her, were also recovered near her body.

The victim also sustained several gunshot wounds in different parts of her body, Ermina added.

Found in the crime scene were Undong’s shoulder bag which contained two sachets of suspected shabu and five fired cartridge cases of calibre 5.56-ml rife.
