Motorcycle ride hailing service Angkas said they were able to uphold safety protocols during the 6-month test run conducted by the Department of Transportation (DOTr). The test run will end on Dec. 26.

"I’m glad to report to everybody that during the last Technical Working Group (TWG) meeting during which we presented the latest updates, we were able to uphold 99.997 percent safety record," Angkas regulatory and public affairs head George Royeca, said in an interview with ANC on Wednesday.
Royeca also said they have provided a medical response team for accidents.
"We had built over the last six months a medical response team that will enable us to handle emergency situations," he said.
Royeca said that the extension of the 6-month long test run will give them time to be ready for the transition from the pilot test to the legalization of motorcycle taxis.
“We hope it’s gonna be a smooth transition between the pilot (run) and when a law governing our operations is passed. That is the reason why we are asking for an extension,” he said.
“We've been working very hard with the regulators to be able to really come up with a proper framework for regulations both on the safety monitoring... safety and the monitoring side. It's just taking a little bit time on both ends,” he added.
