‘Tisoy’ downs NGCP transmission lines in Southern Luzon, Visayas

Several power lines were downed due to Typhoon Tisoy, the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) announced Tuesday.

The NGCP reported that the following transmission lines were affected by the weather disturbance:

South Luzon:

Gumaca-Lopez 69kV Line
Customer Affected: QUEZELCO I

Gumaca-Pitogo-Mulanay 69kV Line
Customer Affected: QUEZELCO I

Naga-Iriga 69kV Line
Customer Affected: CASURECO III

Naga-Concepcion 69kV Line
Customer Affected: CASURECO II

Naga-Sto. Domingo 69kV Line
Customer Affected: APEC

Naga-Tinambac 69kV Line
Customer Affected: CASURECO I

Daraga-Legazpi 69kV Line
Customer Affected: APEC

Sorsogon-Bulan 69kV Line
Customer affected: SORECO I

Daraga-Ligao 69kV Line
Customer affected: APEC

Visayas:

Calbayog-Bliss 69kV Line
Customer Affected: SAMELCO I

Palanas-Cara-Catarman-Allen-Lao-ang 69kV Line
Customer affected: NORSAMELCO

Paranas-Taft-Borongan-Quinapondan 69kV Line
Customer affected: ESAMELCO

Calbayog-Palanas-Cara 69kV Line
Customer affected: SAMELCO I

NGCP assured that inspection and restoration of lines in the affected areas will be in full swing as soon as the weather allows.

Meanwhile, the Ormoc-San Isidro 69kV Line which serves customers of LEYECO III, LEYECO V, BILECO, DORELCO has been partially restored early Tuesday.

“Please note that loss of power may be caused by affected transmission facilities of NGCP or distribution facilities of electric cooperatives,” it stated.

Typhoon Tisoy continues to unleash violent winds and heavy rains along its path, following its landfall in Sorsogon late Monday.

“Tisoy” has slightly weakened after landfall with maximum winds of 155 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of up to 235 kph.
