Man stabs fellow construction worker in Manila

A 42-year-old man has allegedly stabbed his fellow construction worker after taking away his wallet in Taft Avenue, Malate, Manila on Sunday.

Police identified the victim as Dimar Acabo, single, a construction worker. He was rushed to Ospital ng Maynila where is he is currently recuperating.

On the other hand, the suspect, identified as Reynaldo Bulandrina, of legal age, construction worker, remains at large.

Investigation showed Acabo was resting on their barracks when Bulandrina stabbed him on his neck at around 12:00 p.m. on December 1 along Taft Avenue corner Remedios Street Malate, Manila.

Police said the suspect allegedly took the victim’s wallet containing P4,000 cash.

After stabbing and taking the victim’s wallet, the suspect immediately left the construction site, police added.

Follow-up investigation is now underway to apprehend the suspect. (Erma Edera)

P75K worth of shabu seized in QC

Almost P75,000 worth of shabu was seized from an alleged drug peddler in an anti-illegal drug operation in Quezon City on Monday night.

Operatives of Quezon City Police District Drug Enforcement Unit (QCPD-DDEU) arrested in a drug sting Marcelino Juray, alias "Kuya," 38, a resident of San Jose Del Monte in Bulacan.

According to investigators, Juray was allegedly involved in street-level drug selling in the City.

Police Major Timothy Awayan Jr. of DDEU said officers of the unit set a buy-bust against the suspect in front of a convenience store on Atherton Street in Brgy. North Fairview around 11 p.m.

An undercover officer purchased P8,000 worth of shabu from Juray which resulted in his arrest.

Authorities were able to seize from the suspect sachets of shabu amounting to P74,800 in street value, a mobile phone used in the drug deal, and the buy-bust money.

A case of violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be brought for the inquest at the City Prosecutor’s Office against Juray while the confiscated illegal drugs were turned over to the QCPD Crime Laboratory Office. (Alexandria San Juan)
