“The DOLE mobile application will serve as a tool for workers, particularly for the overseas Filipino workers, for easy access to latest news and regulations at work, and immediate contact to the department and to the Philippine Overseas Labor Offices (POLO) in their respective countries,” said Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III in a statement on Sunday.

“This application is intended to provide a major channel for our workers and OFWs to get in touch with DOLE and the POLO. Through the use of modern technology, they can relay their labor related concerns and complaints,” he added.

One of its features is the ‘Wage Calculator,’ wherein the user can compute his/her wages with their overtime, holiday pays, and the corresponding deductions.

Aside from containing contact details of DOLE and labor offices abroad, the mobile application can also help the user to locate the nearest branch of the labor department or POLO –based on their Global Positioning System (GPS) location.

Users can also send an inquiry, a report, a complaint, or possible violations of their employers using the application’s “submit an inquiry” feature.

Workers may also check their rights and benefits by accessing the ‘Handbook for Workers’ Statutory Monetary Benefits – 2019 Edition.’

“Latest news and announcements posted from the DOLE’s website, bureaus and attached agencies, and a ‘hot jobs’ button which has a link to PhilJobNet’s website for a more convenient job vacancy viewing and application of candidates, can also be accessed in the application,” the labor department said.

The mobile application can be downloaded for free from the Google Play Store for Android devices and the App Store for Apple devices.
