Three armed men robbed passengers of a transportation network vehicle service (TNVS) by hammering its window until it broke and carting away P100,000 in cash and personal belongings from two Koreans along the Buendia flyover in Pasay City early Thursday.

According to Renato Adviento, the TNVS driver, said he picked up the two Korean nationals from a casino in Parañaque City.

Policed identified the two Korean nationals as Jo Kyeoung Won and Kang Min Kil. They are Korean students vacationing in the country.

The driver said they were traveling along the northbound lane of Roxas Boulevard at around 2 a.m., and when they arrived at the Buendia Flyover, they were stopped by a blue sedan.

He said the two suspects get off the car armed with a hammer. They were forcefully asked to come out of the SUV while the suspects started breaking the car’s windows.

Adviento added that another man from the sedan followed and opened fire, warning that they would be shot should they not follow the order.

The suspects seized some P105,000 worth of cash and other belongings, including their passports, credit cards and other IDs.

After getting the bag, the suspects immediately returned to the sedan and fled.

Adviento sustained minor injuries from the shattered glass while the two Koreans were unhurt. (With reports from Joseph Pedrajas)
