Magnitude 4.2 quake jolts Davao Oriental

A magnitude 4.2 earthquake struck Lupon, Davao Oriental at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.

The earthquake was tectonic in origin and its epicenter traced 9 kilometers northwest of Lupon, Davao Oriental with a depth of 32 kilometers.

Intensity III was felt in Davao City.

Philvocs also recorded the following instrumentalities:

Intensity II – Davao City
Intensity I – Kidapawan City

Philvocs said no damage to property is expected.

As of this posting, no casualties were reported as a result of the tremor.
