Man arrested for allegedly harassing student

A man was arrested after he allegedly sexually harassed a Grade 11 student inside a mall at Gen. T. De Leon in Valenzuela City Sunday evening.

Arrested was Dominic Soriano, 30, delivery boy, native of Lingayen, Pangasinan, and resident of Barangay 160, Libis Baesa, Caloocan City.

Investigation showed that 15-year-old “Evan” was with her parents inside the mall at about 7:20 p.m

when Soriano walked behind her and grabbed her butt twice.

She decided to ignore him, touched her butt again, she confronted the suspect and caught the attention of her father and the mall employees.

Soriano was arrested by mall security and was later turned over to barangay officials before he was brought to the Valenzuela City Police Station.

The arrested suspect will be facing charges for acts of lasciviousness. (Minka Tiangco)

Two suspected drug personalities collared in  Las Piñas

Two suspected drug personalities were arrested by anti-narcotics operatives in a sting operation in Las Piñas City on Sunday.

The suspects were identified Emily Bayotes, Real St., Pulanglupa 1, Las Piñas City and Joey Gonzalez, Doña Cristeta Pamplona Dos, Las Piñas City.

Investigation showed that the operation was conducted at around 12:30 in the morning along Alabang Zapote Road, Pamplona Uno Las Piñas City.

Members of the to the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) led by Police Lieutenant Alberto Vida with eight others conducted a drug sting operation.

A police poseur buyer was able to purchase P200 worth of illegal drugs from their possession which led to their arrest.

They recovered two heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu.

The seized sachets of shabu have an estimated weight of  5.54 grams and a street value of P36,010.

The two will be turned over to the SDEU of the Las Piñas City Police for disposition and filing of appropriate charges. (Dhel Nazario)

Pregnant woman beaten by man in Navotas

A man was nabbed for beating up two people, including a pregnant woman, near their house at Barangay North Bay Boulevard South in Kaunlaran, Navotas City, Monday morning.

Police identified the victims as Rizza Mae Intal Abantao, 20; and Henrie Bacaycay Abantao, 43, maintenance man; and the suspect as Joel Napay, 52, welder; all residents of the area.

Investigation showed that Henrie was walking home at about 11:50 p.m.on Sunday when Joel appeared and tried to punch him, but missed.

The suspect then grabbed Henrie by his shirt and dragged him on the ground, injuring him on his knees and elbows. Joel then repeatedly punched him on the right portion of his chest.

Henrie managed to get up and flee to his house. Then, Rizza went outside of the house to check on the suspect, which led him to punch her on the left side of her face.

After that, Joel, and his wife Milagros Napay, pushed Rizza, who is four months pregnant, against an iron table, squeezing her stomach.

Joel was arrested by barangay officials, and was later turned over to the Navotas City Police Station, at about 11:30 a.m. the next day. Meanwhile, Milagros evaded arrest.

The suspect will be facing charges for two counts of physical injury while follow-up investigation is ongoing for his wife’s arrest. (Minka Tiangco)

Pasig mini mart robber foiled

Authorities arrested a suspected thief  Monday morning after he allegedly robbed a mini mart in Pasig City and took the cashier’s cellphone and P200 cash.

Police identified the 35-year-old suspect as Jaybee Velloria of Barangay Poblacion, Pateros.

Initial investigation showed Velloria entered the mini mart along Jenny’s Avenue Extension in Barangay Maybunga, Pasig, at around 8 a.m.

The suspect, after taking some items from the shelves, approached the cashier.

Armed with a bladed weapon, Velloria declared a hold-up and took the cashier’s phone worth P7,000 and P200 cash, the police report showed. He then fled on foot.

The cashier, identified as 32-year-old Manilyn Dinola, shouted for help and sought assistance from passersby who chased down the fleeing suspect.

Members of the barangay security force nabbed the suspect. Police said the stolen items and the bladed weapon were recovered.

Velloria is now detained at Pasig City Police Station, where a case of robbery hold-up was prepared against him. (Jhon Casinas)
