6 LTO offices top billion-peso revenue mark

Six regional offices of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) have exceeded the billion-peso mark revenue collection as of last month, the agency bared on Monday.

"We are glad to announce that several LTO Regional Offices have already pegged their collection beyond the billion-peso mark this October," LTO Assistant Secretary Edgar Galvante said.

Topping the list is the LTO's National Capital Region (NCR) - East office with total revenue collection amounting to P3.06 billion as of October 31.

It is followed by the National Capital Region-West Office with P2.7 billion; Regional Office 3 with P2.68 billion; Regional Office 4-A with 2.65 billion; Regional Office 7 with P1.6 billion; and Regional Office 6 with P1.2 billion.

According to the LTO chief, these regional offices have been instituting reforms in their respective offices which resulted in more efficient revenue collection.

Galvante added that the agency is serious in its effort to ensure accurate reporting and remittance of revenue collections for a more transparent service.

The assistant secretary also glossed about the agency's new Information Technology (IT) System which will soon be able to accept payments through modern and more efficient payment facilities including online bank system and other popular payment facilities.

"We will continue the adoption of technology-driven measures to make the flow of LTO transactions more systematic, user-friendly, convenient, accessible and effective, especially in terms of revenue collection," Galvante assured.
