The head of the police’s Anti-Kidnapping Group was added to the long list of generals in the Philippine National Police (PNP) in the latest promotions approved by President Duterte.

Now Brig. Gen. Jonnel Estomo, director of the Anti-Kidnapping Group (AKG), is among the five senior police officials promoted to the next rank.

He assumed the leadership of the AKG as a full Colonel in July this year and once served as the provincial director of Cavite.

A member of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Class 1992, Estomo helped craft policies to address the rising number of casino-related kidnappings involving foreigners, particularly Chinese.

Aside from Estomo, promoted to the rank of Colonel were Rennel Sabaldica, Raymond de Guzman, Ruben delos Santos, and Hordan Pacatiw.

In a letter dated November 11, Malacanang informed Interior Secretary Eduardo Ano about the approval of the promotion of the five senior officers.
