The country is more than ready to host the 2019 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games this month, House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano said on Monday.
Cayetano, who also chairs the Philippine Southeast Asian Games Organizing Committee (PHISGOC), said everything is set for the SEA games.
“Handang handa na tayo,” Cayetano told CNN Philippines.
However, according to Cayetano, they are still in need of more help from private companies to sponsor the international sports event.
“So far, we have 25 private companies that are sponsoring, we need a little bit more especially for our volunteers, sa mga pulis na mag babantay,” he said.
“Aside from that, we are expecting to really be able to showcase the Filipino bayanihan spirit, the Filipino hospitality,” he added.
