Around 300 units of branded mobile phones suspected to have come from criminal suspects – or the so called “GSMs” or “galing sa magnanakaw” – have remained unclaimed after they were confiscated by the Manila Police District Special Mayor’s Reaction Team (SMART) on Saturday.

According to the Manila Public Information Office (PIO), the mobile phones were confiscated from vendors at various malls in Manila.

The office also urged the public to go to the office of Special Mayor’s Reaction Team (SMART) at the Manila City hall, especially those who have lost their cellphones to pickpockets, holduppers and snatchers to see if their mobile phones are among those confiscated by the said unit.

“You may check with the MPD SMaRT office at the Ground Floor of the Manila City Hall to see if your stolen mobile phone was among those seized by the police,” the Manila PIO said.

It can be recalled that Manila Mayor Isko Moreno said the nation’s capital is strictly implementing the P.D. 1612 or also known as the Anti-Fencing Law.
