BUTUAN CITY – A 4.8 magnitude earthquake jolted Davao Occidental province Friday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
In its bulletin, Phivolcs said the new tremor was registered at 6:41 a.m.
The epicenter was plotted 78 kilometers (km) southeast of Sarangani, in Davao Occidental province with a depth of 175 km.
No aftershock alert was raised by the state agency.
The tremor was tectonic in origin, Phivolcs added.
The Southern Mindanao Office of Civil Defense reported no damage or injury.
