About 600 policemen will be deployed to enforce tightened security for the 2019 Bar Examinations which will be held in all four Sundays of November at the University of Santo Tomas (UST).

With the huge influx of examinees that will also be supported by their families, school mates, and friends, Manila police said they expect criminal activities to take advantage of the situation.

The Supreme Court also asked the local government of Manila’s support especially in enforcing tighter security, deploying ambulances, first responders and imposing liquor ban in all business establishments in UST.

The MPD said they would establish an advance command post and emergency lanes around the area.

MPD chief Brig. Gen. Bernabe Balba assured the examinees that they would “step up their security to provide a conducive environment for the future lawyers to take the examination without worry of any disruption.”

MPD also reminded the motorists a stop-and-go scheme will be observed along P. Noval Street, Dapitan Street, A.H. Lacson Avenue, and Espana Boulevard starting from 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.

It will again be implemented at 5:00 p.m. onwards to ensure smooth flow of traffic within its vicinity as the examinees leave UST.

Parking will also be strictly prohibited on the streets along España Blvd., A.H. Lacson Ave., Dapitan and P. Noval Streets.

Around 8,000 law graduates will take this year’s bar examination.

This year’s bar exams will be held at UST on November 3, 10, 17 and 24.

The Bar exams covers eight subjects namely Political Law, Civil Law, Taxation, Labor Law, Criminal Law, Remedial Law, Mercantile Law and Legal and Judicial Ethics.
