Balut vendor shot dead in Taguig City

A balut vendor on his way home was gunned down in Taguig City on Wednesday evening.

Police identified him as Leolito de Leon, 23, a resident of Taguig.

Investigation showed that de Leon was riding his bicycle which was carrying the basket of his balut and chicharon items when the incident happened along Punzalan St. in Barangay Lower Bicutan at 11:10 p.m.

Police said that unidentified gunmen peppered him with bullets that instantly killed him.

Witnesses immediately called police assistance who then responded to the incident.

Recovered from the crime scene were six fired cartridge case of a .45 caliber firearm and four pieces of fired bullets of a .45 caliber firearm.

The police are hunting down the suspect as the investigation is ongoing.
