She sure is sexy

Sanya Lopez has always wowed with her whistlebait figure but she’d downplay compliments, saying it’s nothing.

Well, nothing has turned into something — a lucrative deal to be exact.

Picked as the latest calendar girl of a big beverage company, the actress is up there alright as far as being sexy goes. The honor glows brighter considering that her predecessor is no less than Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach.

“I feel so special,” she admitted in an interview shortly after she was officially launched as brand ambassador “Now, I’m part of history because this calendar offer from them has been going on yearly and for decades now.”

How did she prepare for it, we asked.

For starters, she doubled the time spent on working out. Eating pork and beef went from negligible to nil. Even before this, Sanya was already into badminton, running, dancing, boxing, and Muay Thai.

Actually, Sanya had second thoughts in accepting the endorsement.

Babaeng palaban, ganado sa buhay, walang kinatatakutan, na kaya maging one of the boys,” she related, then added with a laugh, “’Yung parang may pagka-Amazona.”

What was the reaction of older brother, Jak Roberto, to her being calendar girl?

“Tiwala naman siya na aalagaan ako and ako rin hindi nag-alala kasi alam kong ’di ako pababayaan ng Ginebra San Miguel (that rolls out the calendar),” she said.

With the many blessings she’s been receiving, she has certainly gone a long way. Sanya is set to return to the big screen via “Isa Pang Bahaghari (One More Rainbow)” under the helm of Joel Lamangan. The film is headlined by the likes of Nora Aunor and Phillip Salvador.

In the interview, she couldn’t help but look back on her humble beginning.

The actress divulged that even as a kid, she had dreamed of becoming an actress.

Asked who her inspirations are in life, Sanya mentioned her brother and mother.

“’Yung nag-inspire sa akin, of course, my brother na talagang from the very start alam mong andiyan (para sa akin) na sumusuporta.

How did she overcome the struggles she encountered in life?

“Before ako mag-start ng ‘Encantadia (first lead role),’ nag-audition ako ng limang beses du’n,” she revealed.

Sanya certainly believes patience is a virtue.
