Vice Mayor takes over David Navarro as Clarin mayor

CLARIN, Misamis Occidental — Residents here were saddened on the passing of their mayor David Navarro who was shot dead in Cebu City Friday.


“Wala na mi buotan nga mayor (we no longer have a good mayor) said one of the town workers who have related that the late mayor gathered, “fellowshipped” and fed them.

“He is very much helpful and can be approached easily”, said Judy Lugatiman, habal-habal driver and a resident of Purok 7 barangay Miyalen here.

Clarin he said has no problem with drugs as there is a program implemented by the local government against it.

New Mayor

By law of succession, Vice mayor Glorife Roa is now the new mayor of this municipality.

Roa took her oath of office before Ozamiz City judge Soliver Peras afternoon of October 25.

First councilor Mel Davidson Roa Navarro, son of the late mayor will take oath as the vice-mayor at the Department of Interior and Local Government office come Monday, said Emeterio Dacer Roa, Jr., of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office.

Initially, the new administration will pass an executive order this Monday October 28 designating Emeterio Roa Jr., as the new municipal administrator. He is the son of the new mayor Glorife.

The late mayor David Navarro was shot on his way to the Cebu City prosecutor’s Office for inquest in the crime allegedly committed Acts of lasciviousness and slight physical injury.
