Shabu, hand grenade seized from drug suspect in QC buy-bust

Sachets of shabu and a hand grenade were seized from a drug suspect in a buy-bust in Quezon City Friday night.

Arrested during the drug sting conducted by members of Quezon City Police District's Galas Police Station (PS-11) was John April Cobarubbias, 34 and a resident of Brgy. Damayang Lagi.

Police said Cobarubbias was involved in illegal drug peddling activities in his area.

Operatives of PS-11 drug enforcement unit set a drug deal with the suspect on the corner of 14th and La Felonila Streets in Brgy. Damayang Lagi.

An undercover officer transacted with Cobarubbias and purchased P500 worth of shabu, resulting in his arrest.

Seized from the suspect were five sachets of shabu, a sling bag containing a hand grenade and the buy bust money.

Arrested suspect is now under police custody and will be facing charges for illegal drugs and illegal possesion of explosives. (Alexandria San Juan)

P700k worth of drugs seized in Taguig ops

Four alleged drug suspects were arrested by police yielding P714,000 worth of illegal drugs during an anti-criminality operation in Taguig City on Friday night.

The suspects were identified as  Teresita Albaniel; Alvin Lucio, Franklin Desvarro, and Aldrin Ilagan.

Investigation showed that the incident occurred at around 8 in the evening along Elephant St. Barangay Ususan, Taguig City.

Police said that a team from the Taguig Police Community Precinct (PCP)- 6, conducted Oplan Galugad and Anti criminality campaign, where they chanced the suspects and seized from them the illegal drugs.

They recovered a total of 19 plastic sachets of white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu, weighing more or less 105 grams, amounting to P714,000.

The Suspects and items recovered were then turned over to the Station Drug Enforcement Unit of the Taguig City Police for proper disposition. (Dhel Nazario)

Woman lost P100k worth of belongings to suspected 'akyat bahay' in San Juan

A 32-year-old woman lost about P100,000 to a suspected “akyat bahay” member in San Juan City Friday.

San Juan City police said Marie Nina Castillo woke up at around 3 a.m. Friday at her house in Barangay Little Baguio.

She then found out that her two cellphones, earrings, bag, and IDs were missing.

Castillo told probers that she lost her two mobile phones worth P80,000; her P20,000-earrings.

Hours past after the incident, a street sweeper found her bag and ID along Guirayan Street in Barangay Doña Imelda, Quezon City at around 4:20 p.m.

The missing bag and ID were then returned to Castillo at San Juan City Police Station.

Probers have already requested security footages to possibly identify the suspect. (Jhon Casinas)
