A 39-year old man died after he was hit by a speeding 10-wheeler truck which eventually crashed into a branch of a popular fastfood chain in Tuy, Batangas on Saturday, police said.
The truck also hit three vehicles which were parked at the compound of a gasoline station where the food chain was located, according to the report from the Batangas Provincial Police Office.
The victim was identified as Ramil Valdez. The driver of the truck, Claudigard Hilario, suffered injuries. His four companions were also injured.
Police said the truck was negotiating a curve along the national highway at around 8 a.m. when the driver appeared to have lost control of the steering wheel. It then went towards the gasoline station and hit Valdez who was standing in the area.
The truck then crashed onto the glass wall of the fastfood chain. Fortunately, no one was hurt inside the establishment.
