Weekend road repair works resume

Various portions of key highways in the metropolis will undergo rehabilitation and repair over the weekend, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said.


Starting Friday night, some portions of Epifanio delos Santos Avenue (EDSA), Circumferential Road-5 (C-5), and other major roads in Quezon City will be closed for the regular road works, an advice from the DPWH-National Capital Region said.

Rehabilitation works will cover the areas of EDSA in its southbound direction from Camp Crame Gate to after Annapolis Street, beside the MRT station before Estrella, outer lane, and from National Shrine to West Avenue, first lane from sidewalk, and at the northbound direction after Aurora Boulevard to New York Street third lane from sidewalk.

The truck lane at the northbound direction of Katipunan Avenue in C-5 after C. P. Garcia Street, in front of U. P. Town Center will also be affected by the road works.

Other roads scheduled for rehabilitation include the eastbound direction of General Luis Street from Rebisco Road to SB Diversion Road; and Elliptical Road from after Maharlika Street, sixth lane from outer sidewalk; at the westbound direction of Quirino Highway from Prime Rose to King Fisher Street, inner lane; at the southbound direction of Mindanao Avenue fronting Caltex Gas Station and after Tandang Sora Avenue, second lane from widewalk; and G. Araneta from Landragum Street to Samar Street; and at the northbound direction of A. Bonifacio near Selecta Drive, second lane from sidewalk.

Motorists are advised to take alternate routes to avoid the affected areas which will be reopened by 5 a.m. of Monday. (Betheena Kae Unite)
