P204k shabu seized in Caloocan drug bust

About P204,000 worth of suspected shabu were seized from three drug suspects, including two minors, in a buy-bust operation at Barangay 178 in Camarin, Caloocan City Tuesday evening.

Police identified the suspect as Danilo Aldas, alias "Bossing," 34, jobless, resident of the area. Two boys, aged 13 and 14, were also rescued by the police.

Elements of the Caloocan City Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit conducted the drug bust at about 10:30 p.m.

Investigation showed that the three were arrested after they sold a sachet of suspected shabu worth P500 to a poseur buyer.

Nine sachets of suspected shabu weighing 30 grams and worth about P204,000 were retrieved from the suspects.

The two minors were brought to the Caloocan City Social Welfare and Development for intervention.

Aldas will be facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (Minka Tiangco)

1 killed, 2 injured in motorcycle collision

A man died while two others were injured in a collision of two motorcycles in Barangay 176 in Bagong Silang, Caloocan City Tuesday night.

Police identified the fatality as Luis Abejar, 55. Injured were Annabelle B. Manahan and Jeremy Sison, 44. Arrested was Randelito Lesigues, 38. All are residents of Caloocan City.

Abejar and Manahan were riding a Kawasaki Big Bike motorcycle while Sison and Lesigues were onboard a Suzuki Raider 150 motorcycle.

According to a report, the Kawasaki Big Bike motorcycle was traversing Phase 1 Road and was headed north towards Nomad Court while the Suzuki Raider 150 motorcycle was travelling on the opposite direction towards Langit Road at about 10:05 p.m.

Upon reaching the corner of Grema Street, the two vehicles collided with each other. The drivers and passengers were thrown from their vehicles to the pavement due to the force of the impact.

Abejar died on the spot while Manahan and Sison were rushed to Dr. Jose N. Rodriguez Memorial Hospital for medical treatment.

Lesigues, who is under police custody, may be facing charges for reckless imprudence resulting in homicide, physical injury, and damage to property, police said.

P270k worth of shabu seized from senior citizen

Some P270,000 worth of shabu was seized from a senior citizen and his two other cohorts in an anti-illegal drugs operation in Quezon City before dawn Wednesday.

Arrested during the drug sting were Nestor Lumampao, alias "Bayawak," 60, a resident of Brgy. Ramon Magsaysay and his companions Ricky Cornelio, 47, of Caloocan City and Katherine Valdez, 34, of Brgy. Bahay Toro.

Personnel of Quezon City Police District's Masambong Police Station (PS-2) said both Lumampao and Valdez were included in the PNP's Directorate for Intelligence (DI) watchlist.

Police also received reports on the group's illegal activities within the vicinity of PS-2 prompting them to set a drug bust against the suspects.

Members of PS-2 Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) conducted a buy-bust against the three near Roxas Traveller's Inn along EDSA in Brgy. Katipunan around 2 a.m., resulting in their arrest.

Seized from the suspects during the operation were five sachets of shabu worth P272,000, a weighing scale, two mobile phones, and the buy-bust money.

The suspects are now under police custody and were charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (Alexandria San Juan)
