Chinese Vice Premier in Manila for 3-day visit

Chinese Vice Premier Hu Chunhua is in the country for a three-day visit to “fast track the implementation of key infrastructure projects under Chinese financing,” the Department of Foreign Affairs said on Wednesday.

According to the DFA, Vice Premier Hu is scheduled to call on President Rodrigo Duterte and meet with the country’s economic managers to discuss matters relating to trade, investment, tourism, and agriculture.

On Tuesday shortly after his arrival, Hu met with Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin, Jr., DFA-Asian and Pacific Affairs Assistant Secretary Meynardo LB. Montealegre, and Finance Undersecretary Mark Dennis Joven.

The visiting Chinese official is in charge of matters concerning agriculture, water resources, commerce, and tourism.
