Two regular workshop buildings – one 2-storey and a 3-storey, a two-storey science laboratory building, and a two-storey Information and Communications Technology laboratory were recently completed and finally turned over to the Salong National High School.

A total budget of P41 million was spent to complete the school facilities, Region 6 Director Lea Delfinado said. It was funded under the Basic Educational Facilities Fund (BEFF) of the Department of Education.

The projects, Delfinado said, were implemented by the DPWH Negros Occidental 3rd District Engineering Office. She furthered that the buildings are now being utilized by the school.

“As we collaborate with the Department of Education (DepEd) in our pursuit to improve the education sector in the country, we shall continue undertaking projects that will put prime importance to the interest of the schools, teachers, and of course, the students,” Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar said in a statement.

The construction of the facilities, he added, will improve quality and access of education in the municipality as it addresses the concern on the growing number of senior high school enrollees.
