ANGONO, Rizal - A police operation in this town resulted in the arrest of a 34-year old man who was reportedly found cultivating marijuana plant right inside his residence.
Several seedlings and plants placed in paint containers were discovered by operatives inside the house of Joriel Sam Acierto, in a subdivision in Barangay San Roque in this municipality during the enforcement of a search warrant.
Rizal Police Director, Police Col. Renato Alba said in his report to the Region 4-A Police Office that suspect Acierto was arrested during the operation which was an offshoot of information provided by intelligence operatives and concerned citizens who have learned about the supposed discreet propagation of marijuana inside the suspect’s home.
Police said the suspect had managed to propagate the prohibited seedlings as the plants appear to be just ordinary ornamental plants for others who are not familiar with the marijuana plant.
Aside from three pots of the seedlings, several pots containing sprouts of marijuana were also found by police leading operatives to believe that the suspect has been growing the plants by himself.
