2 Korean nationals nabbed for trying to exchange fake bills for casino chips

Two Korean nationals were arrested inside a casino after they tried to use counterfeit bills to gamble in Pasay City on Sunday night.

The suspects were identified by police as Seong Bok Min, 52, call center manager and resident of 25th Street, Barangay Pinag-sama, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City; and Chengyeol Yun, 49, Director at cosmetic trade industry, resident of Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City.

Investigation showed that the two were apprehended at around 7 p.m. inside Resorts World Manila along Newport Boulevard, Barangay 183 Villamor, Pasay City.

Their arrest stemmed from the complaints of Donna Del Valle, 29, casino cashier; and Rommel Almoite, 35, casino treasury coordinator. They were later accosted by Catherine Gaa, 34, gaming duty officer,

Prior to their arrest, a cashier of the casino found out about the counterfeit money when the suspects tried to exchange it for casino chips. The arresting officer found 11 pieces of P1,000 bills from Yun and four from Min.

The suspects were then brought to the Villamor PCP for initial documentation and later brought to Pasay City General Hospital for physical examination .

The case was later referred to Station Investigation and Detective Management Branch (SIDMB) of the Pasay City Police for proper disposition.
